CONTAIN captures the moment before change: the break between what is no longer possible—and what is about to become possible. Between the growing need for housing and the path toward an energy-independent Tyrol by 2050.

At the center is the cup—one of the oldest objects of human culture and, at the same time, the most familiar. It has a capacity, a limit, a moment before it overflows. In CONTAIN, this everyday object becomes the vehicle for existential questions: shaped by children and adults, by hands that are to varying degrees familiar with the sensation of weightlessness. Everything that overflows has a data point behind it. The space in between grows—the more people fill it.

Describe the data. But we humans want to feel. The proportions are calculated, the expression raw, tangible, imperfect. Sound comes from the ground we’re sealing. It holds onto touch, time, and the imprints of the hands that shaped it. It is the opposite of everything data usually is.
